Deconstruct to reconstruct

I’m recovering from a two day training session with SeneGence on social media and personal development and I am filled with ideas and information.

Recovering? Yes, there is a lot of information I need to process, things to plan out and ideas to implement.

I’ll be sketching things out to work smarter and not harder, to make the best use of my time. Time I can spend with my family, time I can spend with my knitting, and time I can spend on myself. I cannot forget myself.

I’m a firm believer in personal development, to better oneself. And our VP of Personal Development was her vivacious self. I want to bottle just a minuscule amount her energy and keep it with me. She had us dancing, laughing and enthralled with every word she spoke.

Our international guest from the USA, a fellow SeneSister and Queen (yass, we have royal ranks), spoke to us from her soul. So much of what she spoke about resonated deep within me. Tears flowed. Hugs were priceless.

We had Crown Princesses train us with invaluable information about how they have successfully used social media to build their businesses and teams.

And then there was the social media guru who made my brain melt and reform with the knowledge of how to successfully build and grow my business online.

ALL the notes were written. Pages and pages of them.

I have much to write out, plan and work on. It’s so exciting going forward, to feel so passionate about what I am doing. I will stretch and grow beyond my comfort zone.

Never before have I been part of a company, a sisterhood, where there is so much love, a willingness to share information, to help one another grow and develop new skills and gain self confidence.

Ultimately, I want to lead. To successfully lead and empower a team of people passionate, driven, open minded and open hearted about life and the opportunity we have been given.

I see the crown on my head.

Oh, So Glamorous!

This weekend, I held a Glamour Clinic for my customers/potential customers in my home.

It’s a great reason for me to tidy up my house! haha!

I had my whole (growing) kit laid out for them to check out and see what was new since my last clinic.

I colour-matched foundation, tinted moisturizers, recommended LipSense colours and did some make overs.

Basically, we sat around playing make up, ate cheese and drank prosecco.

Fun was had by all. I still need to practice applying eyeliner on others. I apparently really suck at it. Who knew it would be so hard?!

I’m in the beginning stages of starting my certification to become a makeup artist through SeneGence.

It’s scary and exciting all at once!

Preparation, procrastination, and more research. I am a master procrastinator. A procraftinator, if you will. I knit or watch make up tutorials (or sports) when I should be tidying/cleaning/washing/unf*^%$ing the house. But I digress.

As I’ve mentioned previously, I have anxiety and ADHD and it can sometimes makes things very overwhelming, hence my need to research and watch and learn all the things so I’m ready to go.

I’ve been researching, as I do, to upgrade my makeup brushes (very soon), which I’m sure I’ll review for y’all, to improve my skills in blending, blending and blending. Did I mention blending?

Circling back to the Glamour Clinic, I’ll continue to run them, to learn as I go, to teach my customers/models about the products I’m using on them and the techniques I’m using so that they can go home and do it themselves.

Over the next 12 months I need to have completed 58 different techniques on 58 different faces! So, I’ll be calling on you local folk for your help!

Becoming a make up artist is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but lay dormant in my subconscious for a couple of decades. Good lord, that makes me feel old, especially with my birthday this week! But I digress.

Finding your fire again is invigorating; I’m not just a stay at home mum. As my daughters like to call me, I’m ‘the makeup lady’. And I’m very happy with that.
