Oh, So Glamorous!

This weekend, I held a Glamour Clinic for my customers/potential customers in my home.

It’s a great reason for me to tidy up my house! haha!

I had my whole (growing) kit laid out for them to check out and see what was new since my last clinic.

I colour-matched foundation, tinted moisturizers, recommended LipSense colours and did some make overs.

Basically, we sat around playing make up, ate cheese and drank prosecco.

Fun was had by all. I still need to practice applying eyeliner on others. I apparently really suck at it. Who knew it would be so hard?!

I’m in the beginning stages of starting my certification to become a makeup artist through SeneGence.

It’s scary and exciting all at once!

Preparation, procrastination, and more research. I am a master procrastinator. A procraftinator, if you will. I knit or watch make up tutorials (or sports) when I should be tidying/cleaning/washing/unf*^%$ing the house. But I digress.

As I’ve mentioned previously, I have anxiety and ADHD and it can sometimes makes things very overwhelming, hence my need to research and watch and learn all the things so I’m ready to go.

I’ve been researching, as I do, to upgrade my makeup brushes (very soon), which I’m sure I’ll review for y’all, to improve my skills in blending, blending and blending. Did I mention blending?

Circling back to the Glamour Clinic, I’ll continue to run them, to learn as I go, to teach my customers/models about the products I’m using on them and the techniques I’m using so that they can go home and do it themselves.

Over the next 12 months I need to have completed 58 different techniques on 58 different faces! So, I’ll be calling on you local folk for your help!

Becoming a make up artist is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but lay dormant in my subconscious for a couple of decades. Good lord, that makes me feel old, especially with my birthday this week! But I digress.

Finding your fire again is invigorating; I’m not just a stay at home mum. As my daughters like to call me, I’m ‘the makeup lady’. And I’m very happy with that.
